The NCBL Youth Coaches Clinic is a FREE clinic open to all coaches. The focus of the clinic will be on the development of youth basketball and youth coaches but will be beneficial to coaches at all levels. The lineup of speakers for our first year will rival any other coaching clinic in the state and we are blessed to have the speakers that we have. Al Rhodes of Penn High School has won over 500 high school basketball games, won the 1984 State Championship at Warsaw and has coached two Mr. Basketballs. Coach Rhodes program at Warsaw was known as one of the best programs from top to bottom in the state as his work in the feeder program and camps continued to reload his teams. Coach's impact at Penn has now created the same atmosphere as his program is stock with skilled players throughout. Coach is one of the best clinicians and coach of coaches in the state and everyone in attendance will gain great value.
Kem Zolman of Wawasee High School has over 200 wins including five sectional championships and a State Runner-Up finish in 2007. Coach will provide a unique perspective for our attendees as he coached his daughter Shanna to one of the most storied careers in Indiana high school basketball including the Miss Basketball award in 2002 and being a parent/coach while Shanna played for Coach Pat Summitt at Tennessee and in the WNBA. Coach Zolman will help all in attendance understand the importance and role of feeder program coaches while also balancing the coaching of your own kid.
John Bodey of Garrett High School led his Railroaders to the Sectional Championship in 2009 and his work with his feeder program has helped develop his entire program as last year's team won 14 games. Coach has more players playing in his program than ever before and his offensive work within his feeder program develops each players skill level for all positions.
Luke Cummings is the Associate Head Coach at the University of Saint Francis and is the director of the Northeast, North Central, and Northern Indiana Basketball Leagues. His leagues are known for their value in helping build feeder programs through competitive basketball leagues that focus on skill and fundamental development. His school based leagues feature man to man only defensive rules and allow coaches the opportunity to teach skill. Coach Cummings is hosting this FREE clinic as he hopes to continue to develop basketball players and coaches throughout northern Indiana.
